This board begins with a handmade edge grain Cherry blank. The graphics are then created with Walnut inlay. The wood thins used for inlay are handcrafted by using the scrap produced by the boards, so minimal waste is ultimately created. This also means that the inlays are not a thin veneer, but cut from a substantial sheet and sanded smooth to the touch, creating a durable surface with impressive color and contrast. The boards are finished with a Mineral Oil/Beeswax coating to condition and seal the natural wood. While the face of the board is durable enough for cutting and serving, the backside is left blank as an appropriate area to do your dirty work while leaving the front as a beautiful and fun display item for your countertop.
