Description

Description:Built in 1898, the Pen Duick is a striking sailing boat perfect for home or office decor.Crafted from high-quality woods like western red cedar and mahogany, these detailed models are hand-built using plank-on-frame construction, requiring hundreds of hours and strict quality control. This model features a green and black hull, a beautifully planked deck with hatches and winches, and stitched sails with intricate rigging. It''s securely mounted on a wooden base with a brass nameplate, with a foldable mast for easy shipping"”ideal for collectors and boating enthusiasts.History:The 36-rater Pen Duick, initially launched as Yum, was built in 1898 in Cork Harbour, Ireland, by Scotsman William Fife III. A successful racer, it was owned by Eric Tabarly"™s father, who taught him to sail on it. After World War II, Éric restored the boat with a new fiberglass hull. Tragically, he fell overboard and was lost at sea in June 1998 while heading to the Fife Regatta.
