Filippo Cardu is a self-taught visual artist/illustrator based in Italy. His work consists mainly of heavily detailed, highly decorative pen and ink illustrations with nature as his subject of choice. He tries to apply his particular visual language to whatever he works on, drawing from medieval ornament, Chinese traditional illustration, and even calligraphy for inspiration. This combination translates into a style that consists of multiple patterns and different types of line- and dot-work.
