"Melted Colors" from the Earth as Art series. Featuring what looks like a mixture of crayons that has melted in the sun is actually part of Australia and the Great Sandy Desert. The yellow streaks are sand dunes, the red splotches depict burned areas from grass and forest fires, and the rest of the colors indicate different types of surface geology. The Earth as Art series comes from NASA which showcases satellite images of our planet and celebrates Earth''s natural beauty in the shapes,colors, and textures of our land and oceans.
